Sheikh Al-Albani
(Hadeeth:) "Allah did not send down a disease except that He sent down the cure for it." So, it is a must to return/resort to treatment with the Qur'an, because it is a cure for mankind. However, if we were to give an example now, (say) a man has high temperature, it is not legislated that he directly resorts to seeking treatment with the Qur'an. Rather, he treats with medications that reduce pain and lower the temperature. And a clearer example than this is, if a vein gets cut, for example, it's necessary that he immediately bandages it. It is not legislated here that he resorts to reciting the Qur'an. As for psychological diseases that physical medicine failed to treat with both its divisions. So, in that case, treating with the recitation of the Noble Qur'an is turned to with a condition. And that is, it (i.e., treating that disease) shouldn't be combined with anything which isn't reported in the Sunnah.
